Old King Brady was a big fat man
Doctor got down took ahold of his hand
Felt for his pulse, shook his head
Said "I believe unto my soul King Brady's dead"

Goes back home and they dresses in red.
Come a snifflin' and a sighin' and  a stumblin' down the street,
In their big mother hubbards and their stockin' feet.

Brady went to hell with a crutch under his arm
Says, 'Hey Mr Devil, well I ain't been here long'
Devil says, 'Brady, step right this way
Well, there's never been a sucker here that ever got away

It's all over town, now, Brady is dead
I rung up the undertaker, here's what he said:
"Roll out your hearses and your rubber-tired hacks,
Takin' twelve men to the graveyard, only 'leven comin back!"

There's a bumpin and a thumpin coming up from the ground
